Warren Battery-Cell Plant

Why this project qualifies

With $2.3 billion in facility-specific investment and 1,100 permanent operating jobs announced, this project clears both of AFT's qualifying thresholds ($100 million in facility-specific investment OR 100 permanent operating jobs). This project also meets AFT's primary-source verification and physical U.S. manufacturing-footprint requirements.

Why it matters

The battery manufacturing context.

Battery manufacturing has become one of the largest concentrations of new industrial investment in the United States. A network of cell plants is taking shape across the Midwest and Southeast, connecting automakers, battery producers, critical-material suppliers and energy-storage markets. Federal production incentives have accelerated that build-out, while the next test will be whether announced capacity converts into sustained domestic production.
