Greer Industrial Automation Manufacturing Facility

OMRON Automation selected Greer for its first South Carolina manufacturing operation, leasing and building out a 60,000-square-foot production facility to manufacture industrial-automation technologies including motion controllers and drives, machine-vision systems, barcode readers and barcode-verification systems. The $9.2 million project is expected to create 162 new permanent jobs over five years; AFT records the conservative 162-job figure and excludes incentives, construction, indirect, supplier and existing-workforce jobs. The original announcement projected an April 2024 start; a later operational milestone has not yet been announced, so AFT continues to classify the project as Planning.
