Nucor is investing $100 million to add a melt shop at its existing bar mill in Kingman, Arizona. The project will give the mill its own steelmaking capacity, producing up to 600,000 tons annually and creating approximately 140 full-time jobs. No reliable completion announcement was found during the July 2026 audit, so Under Construction remains the latest defensible status.

The steel context.

American steelmakers are building a new generation of electric-arc-furnace mills alongside expanded sheet, plate, rebar and coating lines.
