Fully integrated aluminum recycling and rolling plant in Bay Minette, Alabama — Novelis's largest capital project and the first fully integrated aluminum mill built in the U.S. in more than 40 years. Initial capacity 600 kilotonnes/year of finished aluminum for beverage-can and automotive markets. Original May 11, 2022 announcement placed the investment at $2.5B; the estimate was revised to $4.1B in 2024 and to approximately $5B in Novelis's November 2025 fact sheet and 2026 SEC filings — same facility and scope, updated cost basis. Cold mill commissioning began February 2026; hot mill commissioning targeted September 2026.
