The LEGO Group is building its first U.S. factory, a 1.7-million-square-foot molding, processing and packing plant at Meadowville Technology Park in Chesterfield County, Virginia, near Richmond. The company has committed $1 billion and 1,760 jobs over 10 years. Workers placed the final steel beam on the main production building in October 2025, and the factory is expected to open in 2027.

LEGO's June 2022 announcement described more than $1 billion and more than 1,760 jobs; its fact sheet and later releases state $1 billion and 1,760 jobs over 10 years, which AFT records. The company's later figure of more than $1.5 billion combines this factory with a separate regional distribution center in Prince George County, which AFT does not count. Production was originally targeted for the second half of 2025. A separate temporary packing facility has operated since 2023. Its workforce is not added separately to the announced 1,760-job factory commitment.
