BACE York County Waste & Recycling Equipment Manufacturing Operation

Komar Industries is establishing its first South Carolina operation in York County by relocating its BACE subsidiary from North Carolina and upfitting an existing building at 200 Ratchford Road. The facility will grow manufacturing of balers, stationary compactors and self-contained compactors for waste and recycling applications. South Carolina’s project announcement repeatedly identifies the $11.5 million investment as creating 160 new jobs; AFT records the 160 project-specific new permanent jobs and excludes job-development credits, the $150,000 building-improvement grant, any pre-existing BACE workforce, transferred or retained roles, construction employment, indirect jobs and supplier jobs. BACE was acquired by Komar in 2021, so AFT presents one canonical Komar Industries company identity rather than a duplicate BACE company. The announcement projected operations online in July 2025, but no later authoritative operational milestone was found; AFT retains Planning with no structured opening date.
