Bainbridge Synthetic Graphite Facility

Anovion Technologies announced an $800 million synthetic-graphite manufacturing facility at Downrange Industrial Park in Bainbridge, Georgia. The planned 1.5-million-square-foot plant would use proprietary furnace technology to produce approximately 40,000 metric tons annually of battery-grade synthetic graphite for electric vehicles, energy storage, electronics, military systems, and other applications. The project is expected to create at least 400 permanent jobs.

The development has experienced schedule delays. Later company and local updates describe a phased buildout extending beyond the original late-2025 operating target, with phase development extending through approximately 2026–2028. AFT records the project as Planning without assigning a false precise opening date. The potential $400 million EXIM financing is not separate project investment and is excluded from AFT’s $800 million total.
